Nicole Howell CPA
Nicole Howell is a Certified Public Accountant that believes everyone should be able to succeed in their small business. She graduated cum laude with a degree in Accounting from Tennessee Technological University in 1999 and received her CPA license that same year. Nicole started her career as a member of the audit department at Lattimore Black Morgan and Cain in Brentwood, TN. After taking some time off to focus on being a mother, Nicole started working with small businesses doing medical billing, processing payroll, 401(k) administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other financial and management duties. Later she was administrator of a multi-provider medical group, but she missed accounting and working with small businesses. In 2016, she started working with clients from her home, and that was the beginning of Small Business Accounting, Inc.
Nicole and her husband, Wayne love hiking, kayaking, camping, attending small venue concerts, and baking together. They have a total of five children and two grandchildren.
Nicole has experience across many industries and can bring fresh insight into your business and operations.
Adrian Horning CPA
Adrian Horning is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Tennessee and New York state. He graduated from the State University of New York - Empire College with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Economics and Finance. In 1999, Adrian began his career with a regional firm in the Buffalo, NY area where he gained extensive experience in payroll and sales tax reporting, income tax work, governmental auditing, financial statement preparation, and general business consulting. In 2019, Adrian joined with another CPA in the formation of their own firm. As a partner in that firm, he participated as a reviewer for the AICPA peer review program. Through his firm, he also gained management experience handling the day-to-day financial affairs of a farmer’s cooperative.
Adrian lives in Cookeville along with his wife and two children. He looks forward to using his experience to assist the area residents with their accounting needs.
Kaley Crabtree CPA
Kaley Crabtree joined the team in April 2024. Before she joined the team, she spent much of her time working in the entertainment industry. She worked at AMC in Cookeville as a manager for around two years. She participated in the Disney College Program for six months in 2022. While she was in the program, she was able to take leadership classes and human resources classes taught by Disney professionals in those respective fields. Kaley graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Accounting from Tennessee Technological University in May 2024 and Tennessee Technological University Master of Accountancy program in August 2025. She also received her CPA license in September of 2025.
Kaley is native to the Cookeville area, so she is excited to provide services to people in the community to help them achieve their business goals

Sabrina Melton
Raised in Oklahoma, Sabrina Melton brings a combination of professionalism, sincerity, and dedication to her role at Small Business Accounting. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Texas A&M University–Texarkana, graduating cum laude in 2022. During her time there, she served as a Student Ambassador, a Resident Assistant and gained hands-on accounting experience through an internship with Wilf & Henderson, PC. She began her career as a staff auditor in 2022, focusing on IT audits, and later worked as a staff accountant for a corporation in Nashville.
Sabrina joined Small Business Accounting in March 2025, where she’s known for her optimistic spirit and genuine eagerness to help others. When she’s not working with clients, Sabrina enjoys sewing, reading, arts and crafts, kayaking, and playing board games with friends and family.
